AFIP
The AFIP Certification Program consists of college-level courses focusing on the federal and state regulations unique to the F&I trade and ethics module jointly developed with the Walsh Institute for Ethical Behavior. The courses are designed to give F&I practitioners and the lenders and vendors that support the F&I trade the legal and ethical guidelines they need to make more money doing their job within the confines of the law. AFIP Certification is the MBA of the F&I trade – recommended by the National Automobile Dealers Association and supported by select Automobile Trade Association Executives.

Why Organize?
In terms of gross dollar sales, the general agents in support of the automobile industry comprise the largest marketing entity in the United States to operate without the support of an advocacy organization. The Association of Finance & Insurance Professionals has created the Association of Independent General Agents to give GA’s the opportunity to speak with a single voice and to reap the benefits of a unified lobby and service provider.
AIGA operates as an independent entity within AFIP, with its own officers and its own agenda. The close AFIP-AIGA relationship is a classic opportunity for both organizations to benefit from the experience of the other, given the inter-dependence of each aftermarket product category, the competitive market, and the viability of the in-dealership F&I process.
